Virgil House, 73, beloved Husband, was called to his eternal resting place on May 21, 2022. He entered this world on July 11, 1948 in French Camp, California, born to Virgil and Rosa Mary (Denny) House. He was a soldier in the United States Army for over 16 years and was proud of his service there. He met Rhonda Phillips and the two were wed on November 22, 1969 in Modesto, California and they were married for 53 wonderful years until the time of his passing.
After Virgil's Army career, he worked for General Services Administration from 1984 to 1996 where he moved on to Duraliner Truck until 2000. After his work for Duraliner, he went on to work for Reliable Lumber until 2006 and then retired.
Virgil enjoyed and played many sports such as softball, baseball, football, fishing, and bowling, but his main love was golf, which he played any chance he had. He also loved music as well as his cat, Bubba. Virgil was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Arkansas City, Kansas.
Those left behind to cherish Virgil's memory are his wife Rhonda House; brothers Del and wife Peggy House, David and wife Virginia House; sister in law Cheryl Johnston; brother in law Robert and wife Crystal Phillips; "special" cousins Rick and Terry Stewart. As well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and mother in law.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 26th, 2022, 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church in Arkansas City, Kansas. The VFW of Arkansas City will be presenting military honors and flag folding ceremony. Online guest registry is available at www.millerstahl.com.
