Patricia Schieber, 77, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, was called to her eternal resting place on August 29, 2021. She entered this world on November 14, 1943, in Ponca City, OK, born to Homer I. and Billie M. Harris Ward.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Thursday, September 2, 2021, in the St Francis Catholic Church in Newkirk, OK with Father Carson Krittenbrink officiating. Interment will follow in the Newkirk City Cemetery. Wake services will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2021, in the St Francis Catholic Church of Newkirk, OK.
Pat grew up in Kay County, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1961. She attended Oklahoma State University where she received her BS in Education. She met the love of her life, Gene Schieber, and they were married July 17, 1965. They made their home in Newkirk, OK. Pat taught elementary school at St. Francis and St Mary’s Catholic schools for over 20 years before retiring in 2011. She enjoyed baking, gardening, canning, and reading, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren. Pat was very involved at St. Francis Catholic Church and living her faith was very important to her. She also enjoyed volunteering for Hospice of North Central Oklahoma.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 56 years, Gene Schieber, of the home; Six daughters; Mickael Lewis and husband Brad of Mulhall, OK, Kelle Russo and husband Sebby of Atlanta, GA, Gaynell Anderson and husband Rex of Shawnee, OK, Bronwyn Streck and husband Dave of Kremlin, OK, Christi Prescott and husband David of Shawnee, OK, and Karen Schieber of Stillwater, OK; three sons; Gary Schieber and wife Laura of Sidney, MT, Jeff Schieber and wife Shannon of Newkirk, OK, and Russell Schieber and wife Brandi of Kremlin, OK; one brother, Hal Ward, of Newkirk, OK. Pat is also survived by her grandchildren; McCandren Mack, Lincoln Lewis, Gabby, Nicole, & Matthew Russo, Samuel, Grace, & Ellie Anderson, Isaac & Cooper Streck, Piper Prescott, Marett, Maddie, & Gavin Schieber, Claire, Graden, Ladden & Blyden Schieber, Kinason, Kinadee, & Kindree Schieber, and great grandchild, Avery Mack. She had numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Lucinda Morris and one grandson, Iden Schieber.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Iden Schieber Memorial Fund at Equity Bank in Newkirk, OK.
