Nelda Miller, 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, was called to her eternal resting place on July 4, 2023. She entered this world on August 22, 1943, in Winfield, Kansas, born to Elton L. Woods and A. Irene Mitchell Woods.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2023, in the Newkirk First Baptist Church with Eric Garza of North Central Hospice officiating. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at the Veteran's Cemetery in Winfield, KS.
Nelda grew up in the Oxford, Kansas area and graduated from Oxford High School in 1961. She met the love of her life, Gerald P. Miller and they were married January 21, 1967, in Camanche, Iowa and they made their home in the Kansas/Oklahoma area. Gerald and Nelda moved to Newkirk in 2004. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, making stained glass windows, crocheting and playing the piano.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband Gerald Miller of the home, one son; Derrick Miller and wife Valerie of Wichita, KS, one daughter; Twayna Lacey and husband Edward of Geuda Springs, KS, grandchildren; Heather Jackson of TX, and Micah Henman of KS, great grandchildren; Anna Raquel Burchett, Miriam Iris Jackson, and Evangeline (Eva) Suzanna May Jackson. Two brothers; Fred Woods and wife Judy of Wichita, KS and Truman Woods and wife Carolyn of Winfield, KS also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister: Karen Elwood.
