Martha Ellen Hasselbring passed peacefully into God’s arms on April 7th, 2024, at Integris Health of Ponca City, Oklahoma. Martha was born in Martinsville, Virginia on August 1st, 1943, to Harvey and Elsie Beauchamp. She was a student at Wicomico Senior High School in Salisbury, Maryland where she graduated, and then moved on to attend Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts. Martha lived in a few places during her long full life including Salisbury, Maryland for 31 years. She moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma in 1975 and Newkirk, Oklahoma in 1989 where she lived out her days. While in Salisbury Matha met her future husband Mr. Elmer E. Hasselbring whom she married on September 14, 1961. Martha and Elmer were loving foster parents for over 30 years.
Martha spent her days tending to her 12 children, and her home as a homemaker. She loved to watch the birds and women’s basketball in her spare time. She was also an avid reader. She used her skills as a reader to spend many an hour working away at word find puzzles to pass the time.
Martha served as a missionary in Guadalupe, Mexico for a year and a half as part of her walk with Christ. She was an active member of Christ’s Church in Newkirk, Oklahoma. Martha was an active Prayer Warrior for her church family and community. Her faith played a very active role in her life. Martha was truly passionate about her children and adoption. Leading to her and Elmer’s long time as foster parents.
Martha Ellen Hasselbring was survived by her loving husband Elmer Hasselbring, and their beautiful children Suzie Faulkner and husband Jeff of Flagstaff, Arizona, Karen LeBaron of China Valley, Arizona, Jeff Hasselbring and wife Tammy of Newkirk, Oklahoma, Brian Hasselbring and wife Angie of Owasso, Oklahoma, Eric Hasselbring and wife Kim of Millbrook, Alabama, Lori Butler and husband Paul of Owasso, Oklahoma, Tina Schlup and husband James of Kildare, Oklahoma, James Hasselbring of Kansas, Tim Hasselbring and wife Brandy of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Eddie Hasselbring of Pennsylvania. Martha was also survived by Brandy Maddox and her husband Kenneth of Mineral Wells, Texas. Martha was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Elsie Beauchamp, her brothers Craig Beauchamp, Johnny Beauchamp, and Paul Beauchamp, and her children Erica Jones and Paul A. Hasselbring.
A memorial service provided by Miller Stahl Funeral Service will be held on April 13th,2024 at Christ’s Church, 1001 Boaz St, Newkirk, Oklahoma at 2 pm. Services will be led by Pastor Craig Ortwein.
