Helen Southern

Helen Margaret Southern went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 26, 2022, at the age of 84, in her hometown of Newkirk, Oklahoma. Also, preceding her in death are her parents Robert and Rachel Brooke and sister-in-law Pat Brooke.

She was born to Robert and Rachel Brooke on July 6,1938 and graduated from Newkirk High School with the class of 1956. Helen was an avid OU fan and lover of all things Christmas. She loved spending time decorating and designing for all her family and friends. Every gift always perfectly handcrafted and always looking for cute ways to design a space.  She loved to travel with her family and went to just about every state.  She was an avid country music fan and loved to travel to Nashville and Branson.  She will be so dearly missed.

A graveside service is scheduled for Saturday, November 19, 2022, 11 am, at the Newkirk City Cemetery. Survivors include son Mark and wife Penny.  Three grandchildren Ashley Cornelsen and husband Trevor, Paige Southern, Brandon Southern and wife Kayla.  Two and one/half great grandchildren Guinevere and Asher Cornelsen and a baby girl Southern due in March of 2023. Brother Stan Brooke and his son Josh Brooke and wife Ashlynn and daughter Shalynn Brooke.   One niece Cindy Edwards and her children Maeghan and Miller Edwards
