David Smith

February 19, 1962 — November 7, 2022

David Albert Smith went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2022 after a long battle with liver and heart disease at the age of 60.

David was born on February 2, 1962 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Albert Lee and Ina Marie (Bailey) Smith. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1980 and attended Oklahoma State Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, OK where he studied air conditioning and heating. Upon graduation, he went to work for Ward’s Heating & Air for a few years. Later he went to work for Conoco. He was transferred to St. Louis, MO and later was transferred back to Ponca City and continued to work for Conoco until an injury prevented him from working any longer.

David enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, golfing and especially air boating with his good friends. David’s smile and chuckles put smiles on many faces. His cheerful and patient demeanor will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother Audy Smith and sister-in-law Latayne Smith of Newkirk, OK; a niece Taylor M. Smith of Dallas, TX and nephew Braden Smith and his wife Susannah Smith of Arkansas City, KS. Three great nieces, Brynlee, Ayla, and Annistyn Smith also of Arkansas City, KS and several cousins.

Services will take place on Friday, November, 11, 2022, 2:30pm, at Grace Memorial Chapel in Ponca City, OK with Pastor Gary Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow immediately after at Longwood Cemetery.
